Scott Pilgrim, Spaced and Hot Fuzz director Edgar Wright has been anounced as the man to oversee upcoming movie The Night Stalker which is set to star none other than Johnny Depp. The star is said to very excited about the project in which he is set to live out a childhood dream of playing tabloid reporter Carl Kolchak which was originally played by Darren McGavin in the 1970’s. The lead character saw him chasing stories in some very strange environments which often saw him running in with all sorts of supernatural types including, Vampires, Werewolves, Zombies and the like. Given Wright’s penchant for Zombies seen in the brilliant Shaun of The Dead and Depp’s love for horror and gore (Sleepy Hollow, From Hell etc). Wright is set to take over proceedings from the off although it is not yet clear when that will be as both men are currently busy on projects right now.
